GoSnow Senior Channel Manager, Major Burningham

Hello to GoSnow Members! My name is Major Burningham and I couldn’t be more stoked about being a new member of the GoSnow team! A little about myself and how I’ve ended up here on this new journey. I’m a Utah native. Yes, I have been spoiled my entire life living in the shadows of the world famous Wasatch Mountains and spending the last 20+ winters doing all that I can to get my fair share of the ‘Greatest Snow on Earth.’ I know you think we Utahns are just using a catchy branding for our snow quality, but I’d suggest you come and try it out for yourself, it really is a special place.

Aside from having my family first in everything, I’m a snowboarder and it is very proudly a part of my identity. I skied for just a couple years of my life from earlier than I can remember to about the age of five or six. That was until my older brother decided he wanted to try snowboarding, and nothing against skiing, but neither of us have ever looked back! I began my resort journey at the small locals resort called Nordic Valley in northern Utah taking lessons on their bunny hill and slowly progressed through their terrain and moved on to Brighton, The Canyons and Park City. Over the last few years I’ve spent most of my time back in the Ogden area riding Snowbasin and Powder Mountain, or as I like to call them, literal pieces of heaven. I can also be found in the Wasatch backcountry on a splitboard, finding as many turns as I can and learning as much as possible about weather, snow conditions, and avalanche safety.

I also spend my summers here in Utah as well, mostly on a golf course and every now and again fly fishing on the Ogden, Weber or Provo rivers. The place I call home is a great spot for all of the above. I also don’t mind a few laps on a mountain bike or some time trail running. Sometimes, it can be hard to fit in all the hobbies you want to do, because it is all so accessible. This all might sound like a sales pitch for Utah, but for the most part, it’s just the day to day.

My introduction to GoSnow was very simple. In November Sean Bellerby and Scott Anfang came out to Powder Mountain to present the product to the Snow Sports School who is now using GoSnow for bookings and who I was going to be working for part time. I could tell right off the bat that this was a passion driven team and that they were motivated by a very pure goal, to help more people learn to love snowboarding (and skiing too). This immediately sparked my interest and I made it a point to talk to Sean about any opportunities that the company would have going forward for someone in a sales capacity. He was kind enough to take the time to go to dinner during the week to talk about my background and about the success that GoSnow is experiencing. My background is heavily rooted in sales and customer service from outdoors, to retail, to even selling cars to get through school. My degree is in Spanish with a Commercial emphasis and Professional Sales from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah.

When Sean returned to Powder Mountain to help instructors build their profiles and help launch the app with the marketing team, we reconnected. Most importantly we spent plenty of time riding and talking about how GoSnow will and is impacting the industry. I’m very excited to be working with our resort and brand partners and doing all that is possible to find the best partners in the industry. I look forward to seeing positive growth for the company as well as the snow sports industry, to boost participation and inclusion.
Jeremy Jones said, “I often tell my kids to do what they love and to do it often, the world will be a better place because of it,” and I believe GoSnow can help that message ring true.

Ride powder with friends, and pray for more snow.
